Mishima (real name Hiraoka Kimitake) tried to assert himself as an actor, as a director and even as a professional athlete (karate, bodybuilding, etc.), but he gained world fame, first of all, as a writer. Acquired scandalous fame for his play "My Friend Hitler", in which the author justifies the crime as a natural act of self-expression of a "strong personality." In 1970, Mishima committed suicide (harakiri). The book includes his most famous novels "The Golden Temple" and "Confessions of a Mask."
