Alexis Iparraguirre (Lima, 1974). Narrador y crítico cultural y literario. Premio Nacional de Narrativa de la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú por su libro de cuentos El Inventario de las Naves (2005). En 2016 publicó su nueva colección de relatos, El fuego de las multitudes. En 2021, coeditó con Francisco Joaquín Marro Esta realidad no existe. Antología de ciencia ficción por autores del Perú, una colección de 14 cuentos del género por escritores peruanos, tanto reconocidos como emergentes. Fue editor invitado de la revista Los bárbaros de Nueva York para su número especial de literatura fantástica y ciencia ficción. Como crítico, se tituló de licenciado en Lingüística y Literatura por la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, es doctor en Culturas Latinoamericanas, Ibéricas y Latinas por la Escuela de Posgrado de la Universidad de la ciudad de Nueva York (CUNY) y master de Bellas Artes en Escritura Creativa en Español de la Universidad de Nueva York (NYU). También se desempeña como profesor adjunto de lengua y cultura hispánica en The City College of New York (CCNY). Alexis Iparraguirre (Lima, 1974). Short story writer and cultural and literary critic. His first book of stories, El Inventario de las Naves (The Inventory of Ships), won the prestigious Pontifical Catholic University of Peru´s National Prize (2005). In 2016 he published his new collection of stories, El fuego de las multitudes (The Fire of Crowds). He also was guest editor of Los Barbaros, a magazine based in New York, for its special issue on fantastic literature and science fiction. In 2021, he co-edited (with Francisco Joaquín Marro) Esta realidad no existe (This reality does not exist), a collection of 14 science-fiction short stories by Peruvian writers. He holds a B.A. in Linguistics and Literature from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. He is also a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing in Spanish from New York University (NYU) and a Ph. D. from The Graduate Center of The City University of New York (CUNY). He also serves as an adjunct professor of Hispanic language and culture at The City College of New York (CCNY).
