Sentinels of Oz

2019

We’ve rid Oz of two outsider murderers. Glinda is next. First, the Oz just had to go vote in some yahoo who crashed here in a flying balloon. He turned Oz against the Sentinels and everyone started calling us witches. There were always four Sentinels protecting Oz—North, South, East, and West. I swear, everyone where that Wizard comes from must be an utter sociopath because the next person who ended up in Oz dropped a house on my aunt and murdered my mother. She stole my aunt’s silver slippers right off her corpse like some savage. Glinda has established herself as the Good Witch of the South and abandoned her duties as a Sentinel. She wants to rule Oz instead of balancing the Four Points. Instead of learning from our ancestors, Glinda wants everyone to learn magic and compete for the honor of being one of the four Sentinels at Emerald City Academy. I’m competing against Munchkins, Winkies, Quadlings, and that psychopathic farm girl has been invited because she’s Glinda’s golden girl. The Gillikins in the North seem to be suspiciously left out of the school, which is odd because when good and Wicked Witch assignments were being given out, Locasta was crowned Good Witch of the North. I honestly don’t know if Dorothy is dense or just evil. She’s got a Munchkin fan club and they are picking on my cousin Saffron because they think her mother was the Wicked Witch of the East. I can’t do anything about it because I have to figure out what this school is really about. I’ve got my Winkie friend Oprix, and Idris, the Prince of the Flying Monkeys here with us. No one knows the Flying Monkeys can now shift into men. The Quadling Headmaster, Daxar, seems to be on my side. Someone started this. Someone broke Oz. It’s up to me, the daughter of the alleged Wicked Witch of the West to fix it. If I have to murder Dorothy Gale and Glinda the Good, so be it. I’m fixing Oz and restoring the Sentinels. No one at this school is taking my birthright.

I’d like to say there’s no place like home, but I don’t recognize Oz anymore. Emerald City Academy has become pointless. Daxar is missing and Glinda disappeared when we started questioning her as to his whereabouts. Galen is avoiding me, probably because it’s about high time he tells me about his parents. Professor Ixius has taken over as headmaster and my training, but he can’t seem to stay sober and he doesn’t know the first thing on how to teach me. Things go into a whirlwind when Galen finally drops the bomb about his parents. The pieces are starting to fit together. Maybe Glinda is not avoiding us. Maybe it’s a thousand times worse than that. We’ll have to mount a rescue mission if things are as dire as they seem to be. We are woefully outnumbered. The Oz army isn’t trained and only likes polishing their badges. The last time we were in the North, things went horribly wrong. We’re running low on good Sentinels at the moment. We have to take a chance Glinda is still one of the good ones and rescue her. The alternative means the Fisher King will rise again and terrorize Oz until it’s devoid of all magic Emerald City Academy is an adult reverse harem retelling of the Wizard of Oz and the books that followed with a snarky heroine who is not taking the Wicked Witch moniker lying down, monkey shifters, a hot Winkie, a dangerous Headmaster, and a mysterious green haired boy who may have all the answers.

Oz Has Spoken

2020

Ding Dong, the Witch is dead After we get a bomb dropped on us about Dorothy, it seems Galen’s family secrets go deeper than we ever thought. Secrets that lead us back to Locasta and the North. It seems another rescue is in order, but Gugu takes charge this time. Locasta’s maid is not just a simple maid and she knows all of Locasta’s deep, dirty secrets—including when and where the Fisher King intends to strike. We now know when the Fisher King intends to play his hand, so it’s time to plan ours. The Fisher King intends to rally all of Oz to capture the Sentinels for him, but he doesn’t know we are onto him. He doesn’t know we know where his first strike will be. We intend to meet him there with all of Oz to back us up. There’s so much at stake. He could kill me. He could kill my mates. He could steal all of Oz’s magic. I’m not fully trained, but I can’t stand aside and let this happen. The Fisher King and his wives are going down.

Only Bad Witches are Ugly

2021

There’s no place like home. Unless someone lands there in a balloon and the curses start flying. No one in Oz remembers the Fisher King. The First Sentinels made sure of that. There are four of us. North, South, East, and West. I am Glinda, Sentinel of the South. We are all trying to figure out what to do about this Wizard who just landed here in a balloon, disposed of our king, and inserted himself as king of Oz while dealing with the ailing Sentinel in the North when the unthinkable happens. The same forgetting curse the first Sentinels used to make everyone forget the Fisher King is cast again. Except now, we are no longer Sentinels. I’m the Good Witch of the South, Azami is the Wicked Witch of the West, Adora is the Wicked Witch of the East, and Locasta is the Good Witch of the North. Two Sentinels had to have cast that spell. I know Azami and Adora didn’t do it, or they wouldn’t have gotten the short end of the stick. I know I didn’t do it. That leaves poor addled Locasta. Maybe she isn’t as cursed and soft as we all thought. But who helped her? Can I restore the Sentinels before Oz tears itself and my friends apart?

USA Today Bestselling Author JB Trepagnier is a huge liar. She first started lying as a child when someone asked who colored on the walls. She later went on to major in art, so they really should have framed it instead of sending her to the principals office so many times. When she was fourteen, she wrote a very large lie into several notebooks, which later became her first book, Midnight's Sonata. Rather than dabbling in politics and possibly ending up in jail for lying when it counts or under oath, JB chooses to craft elaborate lies into word documents and use them for entertainment rather than harm because she is really batman, just without all the money to fight crime
