Ilya Yashin (Russian: Илья Яшин) is a Russian political figure and local government representative. From 2017 until 2021 he held the post of Chairman of the Council of deputies for the municipal district of Krasnoselsky in the city Moscow. Yashin was a leader of the political party RPR-PARNAS (2012–2016), and is also a co-founder and one of the leaders of the political movement Solidarnost' (Solidarity). He is the leader of the Moscow branch of the RPR-PARNAS, in which Solidarnost' participates. In 2005 he was one of the founders of the civic youth movement Oborona, and he was an active participant in Dissenters' Marches and the rallies "For Fair Elections". Yashin served as the leader of the Yabloko party's youth wing until 2008, when he was expelled after becoming actively involved with Solidarnost'. Following an arrest at a demonstration in Moscow on 31 Dec 2010, Amnesty International declared him a prisoner of conscience, along with Boris Nemtsov and Konstantin Kosiakin.
