Juan Jacinto Muñoz-Rengel (Spain, 1974) is a philosopher and writer, author of the novels The Capacity for Love of Mr Königsberg (La capacidad de amar del señor Königsberg, 2021), The Great Imaginer (El gran imaginador, 2016), The Other’s Dream (El sueño del otro, 2013) and The Hypochondriac Hitman (El asesino hipocondríaco, 2012), the essay Una historia de la mentira (2020) and the short story collections El libro de los pequeños milagros (2013), De mecánica y alquimia (2009), finalist in the Setenil Prize for best short story book, and 88 Mill Lane (2006). He was named one of the most promising Spanish writers of his generation and his work has appeared in various anthologies including Cuento español actual (Editorial Cátedra, 2014), Pequeñas resistencias. Antología del nuevo cuento español (Páginas de Espuma, 2010) and Siglo XXI. Los nuevos nombres del cuento español (Menoscuarto, 2010). He has received more than fifty national and international literary awards for his short stories and his works have been published in a dozen countries including USA, UK, France, Italy, Finland, Greece, Canada, Turkey, Mexico, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile and the Arab world. In addition, Juan Jacinto Muñoz-Rengel founded the Escuela de Imaginadores for creative writing in Madrid.
