At the same time, a team of Rangers conducts secret missions deep inside enemy territory. Sabotage, rescue, kidnapping, and supply raids are all in a day's work for the men led by Gill Torrence. They are about to embark on their deadliest mission yet as NATO falls back under the blow of the Soviet hammer. Gill's men are assigned to find and bring back General Jan Kessel, the mastermind of East German strategy. Meanwhile, the war takes a very personal turn for Torrence as he learns the fate of his father. For the men who fight and die behind enemy lines, the shadow war comes at great personal cost and sacrifice. How much is Gill willing to lose in order to help his side win?

He lives in a eighty-year-old farmhouse near the north shore of Lake Erie. His novel, "One-Eyed Jacks" was nominated for the Dashiell Hammett Prize.
