This is a collection of three short stories about a hypothetical World War III fought in Central Europe during the mid-1980s. This book includes the following stories: A Nice Little War: May, 1985 Tactical Air: The Battle for Bayreuth Air Assault This is military fiction of the ground war from different perspectives. "A Nice Little War" is a strategic look at the Soviet invasion of West Germany in a strategic surprise scenario. "Tactical Air: The Battle for Bayreuth" is a look at the battle between a Soviet tank regiment and a West German Panzer brigade as they fight for control over a small but strategic West German town. "Air Assault" is an individual soldiers' level perspective of the fighting over a West German city.
Author

Brad Smith was born and raised in southern Ontario. He has worked as a farmer, signalman, insulator, truck driver, bartender, schoolteacher, maintenance mechanic, roofer, and carpenter. He lives in a eighty-year-old farmhouse near the north shore of Lake Erie. His novel, "One-Eyed Jacks" was nominated for the Dashiell Hammett Prize. Some of his books that have been published include One-Eyed Jacks (2000), All Hat (2003), Busted Flush (2005), Big Man Coming Down The Road (2007), Red Means Run (January 2012) and Crow's Landing (August 2012).
